Does anyone know of any accessible stat counters, like for seeing how many people go on my website? I'd prefer the free ones, because some can be quite expensive, but I might have to pay for it some time.
Here's one. Fully accessible, fully customizeable, and free.
www.statcounter.com
You have to register for it, giving an email address and password, but once that's done, the rest is just following the prompts. Not exactly rocket science, but works very well. Once it's set up, all you do is copy and paste a bit of javascript into your web page where you want the counter to appear.
I think I tried that one. I'll have to try it again. What does it actually show when it's on the web page? I tried a different one which has a different address and it just put in a link to the website, so we couldn't see the stastics properly.
No, sorry. That was a different counter I looked at. Has anyone heard of www.onestat.com? Tghat's the one I tried.
Not heard of that one. But what statcounter displays depends on how you set it up. It's beena while, but you can have a variety of counters, including just an invisible one, used for counting the number of visits to the site, but not displaying it. you can then, as with them all, log into statcounter.com, to see your stats.
Can I show the number of visits on my site with this stat counter?
Yep, you sure can. As I said it's fully customizeable. Give it a go, it's free, and fairly straightforward to set up. And to get rid of it if you dont' like it, you just take out the javascript that you pasted in.
